Winter Climbing

My adventures have often taken me abroad but, with the right weather, there’s something amazing about the Scottish Mountains.  Recently I took my parents up to Aviemore to teach  my dad how to ski.  The snow wasn’t great but there was enough to teach him the basics and the mountain train enabled my Mum to look out from nearly the top of a mountain for many miles.  Not a week later I caught the train up to meet Dan for a week of winter climbing.

Armed with crampons, axes and ice screws and I started climbing up vertical ice, under Dan’s careful eye.  I’ve always enjoyed climbing and having experience ice climbing, I reckon sport and trad are all training for ice.  It’s the best!
